Couples Counselling
in Ontario and Western Canada

A space to slow down, understand the patterns between you, and find your way back to one another.

Relationships can be deeply meaningful, but they can also bring some of our most tender places to the surface. You may find yourselves having the same arguments over and over, struggling to communicate, feeling disconnected, or unsure how to move forward together.

Couples counselling offers a space to slow down and understand what is happening beneath the conflict. Rather than focusing only on who is right or wrong, we can explore the patterns you find yourselves caught in and work toward greater understanding, connection, and emotional safety.

What can couples counselling help with?

Communication & recurring conflict
Understanding why conversations so easily become arguments and finding new ways to communicate.

Feeling disconnected
Rebuilding emotional closeness when you feel more like roommates than partners.

Attachment & relationship patterns
Understanding the deeper fears, needs, and protective responses underneath recurring patterns.

Repair & rebuilding trust
Learning how to move toward one another after hurt, conflict, or disconnection.

Life transitions
Navigating changes such as becoming parents, major moves, family stress, or other transitions that affect your relationship.

My Approach to Couples Counselling

I believe that most couples want to feel close, understood, and secure in their relationship, even when they find themselves caught in painful patterns. We can explore the patterns that leave you feeling hurt or disconnected, while giving care to safety, boundaries and each person’s responsibility for their behaviour

My approach is warm, collaborative, and curious. Together, we can slow down the conflict enough to understand what is happening underneath it—the hurt, fear, longing, or need for connection that may be difficult to express when emotions run high. As we begin to understand these patterns, couples can often find new ways of responding to one another and create more space for connection and repair.

My work with couples draws particularly from Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and the Gottman Method, alongside attachment-based, trauma-informed, and compassion-focused approaches. I tailor our work to your relationship and the challenges you are facing, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our work can help you understand what is happening between you, consider what you each need and decide how you want to move forward.
